Racely is designed with your privacy in mind. All your data stays on your device, and we never collect, share, or sell your personal information.

What We Store

The app stores the following information locally on your device:

  • Your profile information (name, age, preferred distances)
  • Your race data (past and upcoming races including dates, times, distances, and notes)
  • App preferences and settings

How We Store It

All data is stored locally on your device using iOS standard storage (UserDefaults). Your data is never transmitted to external servers, and we have no access to your information. The data remains on your device and is protected by your device's security features.

Analytics

Racely uses Aptabase, a privacy-focused analytics service, to collect anonymous usage data. This helps us understand how the app is used and improve the experience. Aptabase does not collect personal information.

The data collected includes:

  • Anonymous app events (e.g. screens visited, features used)
  • A randomly generated anonymous user ID (not linked to your identity)
  • Basic device information (e.g. iOS version, device type)

You can opt out of analytics at any time in the app's Settings. If you delete your account within the app, your anonymous ID is reset. We do not use cookies, advertising networks, or any tracking technologies beyond what is described above.

Data Control

You have complete control over your data:

  • You can view, edit, or delete your profile information at any time within the app
  • You can add, edit, or delete any race entries at any time
  • Deleting the app will permanently remove all your data from your device
  • There are no backups of your data on our servers because we don't have any servers

iCloud Sync

Racely syncs your data across your devices using iCloud. Your data is stored in your personal iCloud account and is never accessible to us. If you disable iCloud or delete the app, locally stored data may be removed.

Children's Privacy

Racely does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. The app is designed for general audiences and does not require age verification. All data stays on the device and is never transmitted to us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app or legal requirements. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or update the effective date above. Your continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
